Teen Bella Rasmussen becomes first female player to score two touchdowns in high school football in California

Student athlete Bella Rasmussen made history as the first girl in California to score two touchdowns during a high school varsity football game.

Rasmussen, an 17-year-old senior playing running back for Laguna Beach High School in Laguna Beach, ran for two touchdowns in a 48–0 victory over Santa Ana’s Hector Godinez Fundamental High School on Oct. 14.

A video shared by her mother, Annette Rasmussen, shows Bella, No. 24, taking the handoff and running straight up the middle for a 4-yard touchdown before getting tackled to the ground. Another clip shows her scoring a one-yard touchdown.

Rasmussen has been playing football all four years of high school, as defensive end and running back, and she now has a total of four touchdowns in her high school career. The Laguna Beach Breakers are currently 5–3 for the season.
